Hunting
is located in Great Bend, Kansas, between Cheyenne Bottoms and
Quivira National Wildlife Refuge.
Cheyenne Bottoms is home to hundreds of thousands of waterfowl
each year on their migration south. It consists of Mallards,
Pintails, Widgeon, Gadwall, Teal are the most plentiful ducks
moving through but others are harvested as well. Canada, Specklebelly and Snow
Geese also pass through in huge numbers.
Pheasant hunting is another huge season for this area.
Thousands of acres of Milo and CRP grass is where these
beauties hang out.
Thanks to KDWP
and the NWTF,
good numbers of turkeys now call this area home. Rio Grande is
the most prominent species but some Eastern and
Meriam's can
also be found.
Whitetail deer in Kansas are quickly becoming legendary across
the country. These corn fed monsters have both body and antler
size. There were a couple of monsters that scored over 200"
and weighed near 350 lbs. Good numbers of Mulie's can also be
seen in certain areas. Call for details. |
